Marriage Is Between A Woman And A Dolphin?

Our world is getting crazier and crazier, my friends. Right from the get-go in 2006 the latest craziness includes – did you hear? – a woman marrying a dolphin. Yes, it’s true. Her name is Sharon Tendler. She happens to be a 41-year-old Jewish millionaire. (Who said people with money were bright?) She was just united in holy matimony to “Cindy,” her beloved dolphin friend. (I’m not making it up.) Listen to the woman’s own words (taken from an article I read on ynetnews.com by Joe Kot): “The peace and tranquility underwater, and his (the dolphin’s) love, would calm me down,” the excited bride said after the wedding [regarding her past visits with Cindy two or three times a year]. “I’m the happiest girl on earth,” the bride [went on] as she choked back tears of emotion. She would add: “I made a dream come true, and I am not a pervert.” (Aren’t you glad she cleared that up?) The happy couple tied the knot, the article also says, after “Cindy, escorted by his fellow best-men dolphins, swam over to [the bride] and she hugged him, whispered sweet nothings in his ear, and kissed him in front of the cheering crowd.” Have you had just about enough? And some of you wonder why I made the point in a sermon recently that marriage is between a man and a woman. Well, somebody needs to say it! Those of you who were here for that message may remember I ended the point, quoting Matthew 1:24 as follows: “After Joseph woke up, he and Mary (not Larry!) were soon married, just as the Lord’s angel had told him to do.” Maybe I should have said: “After Joseph (not Flipper!) woke up, he and Mary were soon married, just as the Lord’s angel had told him to do”! Of course, we need to be praying for our world, my brothers and sisters?! Despite the craziness, God is still at work! (Is that a sigh of relief I just heard?)
