A famous chicken was walking in the woods one day when an acorn fell on her head. Her response? “Oh my goodness. The sky is falling.” With that statement Chicken Little would lead every one of her friends away to the point where they almost became dinner for a fox. And Chicken Little’s statement: “The sky is falling,” is being repeated over and over again it seems even in our day. And whether or not the sky really is falling, the fact remains it’s important how you respond to the message so you don’t become fox food. The following points don’t need developing. They’re kind of a conglomeration of things I’ve read and taken to heart. May they be a help to you when the sky is falling (and when it isn’t):
When the sky is falling…
- Don’t panic. (Psalm 46:10; Matthew 6:25-34)
- Set goals. (Philippians 3:14; 2 Corinthians 3:18)
- Work hard. (Ephesians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 15:58)
- Be the best. (1 Timothy 4:12)
- Always love what you’re doing. (John 13:1)
- Never give up. (James 1:12; 2 Timothy 4:7-8)
