After forty days in the wilderness Satan tempted the Savior, “If You are God’s Son, tell this stone to become bread.” “Worship me and I will give you all the kingdoms of the world.” “Throw Yourself down from the temple’s height and the angels will catch You.” Each time Jesus recognized it was a liar speaking and referenced the words He lived by (the truth of Scripture). (Luke 4:1-13) And unlike our parents (Eve and Adam) in the Garden, Christ overcame. You and I can likewise withstand the onslaught of the enemy of our souls, but first we must recognize his lies. Anything that comes out of the devil’s mouth must be rejected. Has he been saying anything to you lately? Might it include some/any of the following?
10 More Lies of the Devil…
(What might you add?)
(Click HERE if you would like to read Part 1 of this series: “10 Lies of the Devil.”)
Actually, Jesus never went to church. He went to the temple and to synagogue, but never to church. There are 613 commandments in the first 39 books and over 1000 in the last 27. I’m not sure which ones God didn’t mean! Jesus said if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. 1 John 5 says the commandments are not burdensome. 2 John 6 says that if we love God we will keep His commandments. 1Cor. 10 says that God will give us the power to overcome sin.
Another one of his lies is “No one cares about you!” God cared enough about me to allow trials and afflictions bring me to my knees in agony now so that I wont have to in eternity. I will be on my knees in praise, thanksgiving, and adoration! One cares about me, and One cares about you too. It is sufficient!
Another lie of the devil is “God won’t be angry with you if you retaliate. Remember Moses’ law an eye for an eye” That is a lie because Jesus gave a new law. And also, God says vengance belongs to him. God help us all.
God will squash you like a bug if you so much as sin or commit one wrong. In contradction to the scripture saying God’s grace is sufficient for us and that He forgives all our sins
