12 Things the Christmas Story Says About God

Wow. It’s going on Christmas again. It’s such a special time for us ~ the Campagna family living here in Sonora, California. I’ll bet it is for you and yours and in your town, too.

And I was thinking about and reconsidering the story of Christmas once more (as it’s so important to do). Of course, it’s about an angel visiting a Virgin, a man named Joseph marrying her (though she was “found with Child”), no room in the inn on the night Mary was to give birth and a baby lying in a feeding trough/manger who was Christ the Lord. The Christmas story is about all of this.

And it’s about another thing, too. Oh, it may not be literally spelled out in so many words in the Scripture per se, but the Christmas story is also about God Himself. Isn’t it? It’s about God Himself – His character, Person and plan. I’ve tried my best to sum it up in the following list. See if you agree with…

12 things the Christmas story says about God:
(What might you add?)

1. He is interested
2. He is involved
3. He is able
4. He is near
5. He is available
6. He is unusual
7. He is amazing
8. He is faithful
9. He is humble
10. He is human
11. He is Jesus
12. He is within reach
