Duh #1: They’re people like you.
Duh #2: They sin sometimes.
Duh #3: They carry a lot.
Duh #4: They need forgiveness, too.
Duh #5:
Duh #6: They don’t have many “real” friends.
Duh #7: Some of them aren’t saved.
Duh #1: They’re perfect like you. (Not)
What is it that we hold our Pastors to a higher standard than ourselves? Not that we shouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong. I’m just trying to make the point that we go easy on ourselves in so many ways. (Yes, that includes you.) And if the Pastor doesn’t smile at us when we walk by (God forbid), “That’s it. I’m going to another church where I’m appreciated.” It’s how some people respond. Get your eyes off yourself, brothers and sisters. It’s not about you.
Duh #2: They sometimes sin (do weird things). (That deserves another “duh.”)
They yell at their wife.
Duh #3: They carry a lot.
You have no clue what battles your Pastor faces. He doesn’t always perform well behind the scenes. Even the best of us has curled up in a fetal position over an attack of the devil. You talk about spiritual warfare. That hang nail and bad hair day you deal with are nothing.
Duh #4: They need forgiveness, too.
Duh #5: They are gifts from God.
Duh #6: They don’t have many “real” friends.
Duh #7: Some of them aren’t saved.
