The Royal Wedding went off without a hitch. It is said that a crowd of one million people lined the streets leading to Westminster Abbey where Prince William (oldest son of the famed Princess Diana) was married to Kate Middleton. There are those who believed that Diana attended the wedding in spirit. (She died in a car crash in 1999.) The headline on the web page where the NBC Nightly News piece on it sits was: “Princess Di’s spirit hovers over royal wedding.” (click here to view) And there are those that believe that in a literal sense ~ that Princess Diana’s spirit literally oversaw the events.
Which goes to the general subject of what really happens to a person after they die. Let me begin by saying it’s important that we don’t cling to figments of imagination (even though it may make us feel good). We need the truth. It will become to us an anchor to the soul in time of trouble. (Figments of imagination go “poof” when one stands at death’s door.)
The Bible says much about what happens to a person after they die. The Bible can be counted on. The Bible is the Word of God.
Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
Princess Diana may have attended the Royal Wedding in the thoughts of her son and the many who celebrated it. But she wasn’t there. Not by a long shot.
