“There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 16:25)
We were driving in San Francisco on Market Street (some buddies and I). The problem was the guy at the wheel (my best friend) had been drinking. The problem on top of that was something happened to him after a few beers. He changed. It was as if someone (something) took him over. (Luke 22:3) It wasn’t good. Fortunately (at the time I wasn’t a Christian and didn’t realize it was God) we didn’t die that night.
Pick your poison. Alcohol. Sex. Drugs. Self. There are many intoxications in life (fame, fortune, etc, too) and they become doorways of spiritual control. The end is destruction. But Jesus can rescue you. (Only if you want Him to.)
“Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:24-25a)
