Why I’m NOT Using Social Media in the Church

“Many times it’s the past revival that persecutes the present one.”

I have only one thing to say about this social media stuff, “Bah humbug.” (Has tongue in cheek) I mean, what possible use could there be for Twitter and Facebook? I’m talking about in ministry in the church. It’s just such a waste of time for one thing, isn’t it? You’ve seen all the young people with their eyes glued to their mobile devices walking by. Or they’re texting their friends who are in the same room! So what’s up with that?

And real ministry only takes place face to face after all. Notwithstanding we’re not “face to face” per se with our Lord Jesus currently. (We aren’t physically.) We will be in the future. (1 John 3:2) And God has “texted” His message to us in the form of the Scriptures, btw! (Hasn’t He?) “I’ve never quite looked at it that way.”

(Oh yeah, I forgot about webcams. And TV ~ television ~ is different. So we give that a pass.)

Many of the songs (hymns) were renditions of the music in bars.
Drums used to not be allowed in church.
