December 21, 2012 IS Doomsday

Earth in Steel-Jaw TrapDoomsday is here.

It is.

The date?

December 21, 2012.

Oh, I know I’ll be branded a heretic for saying it. I know I’ll be “poo poo-ed,” written off, scorned, chuckled at.

But hear me out.

I expect you’ll think differently of me after you read what I have to say. (Or maybe you won’t?)

You see, aside from the Mayan calendar ending on that day, for the person who dies on December 21, 2012 (dying / death is that moment where the physical body ceases to function, but the spirit continues on) ~ it’s that person that it’s doomsday for. It’s that person that December 21, 2012 is doomsday ~ the person who doesn’t know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9, 13)

December 21, 2012 is doomsday for that person. (Hebrews 9:27)

And Jesus said something very interesting (and scary) to the people of His day. He said, “Unless you believe that I am He (the Savior of the world and surrender your life completely into My hand), you will die in your sins.” (John 8:24b)

Jesus was talking about doomsday here. He was talking about a state of being after this life is through (dying in your sins) that spelled doom for the person finding himself in it.

Simply put, dying in your sins is not having the evil things that you’ve done forgiven by God.

And we’ve all done evil things. The Bible is clear. I’ve done evil things. And you’ve done evil things. (Romans 3:10; Isaiah 64:6)

And if you or I do not have those evil things atoned for and we die on December 21, 2012, it IS doomsday for us. December 21, 2012 IS doomsday.

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31) apart from the protection of the blood of Jesus which covers / cleanses all sin. (1 John 1:9)

“‘Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the Lord, ‘Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow.'” (Isaiah 1:18a)
