10 Mistakes People Make with Marriage (plus 1 bonus):

1. Are not committed like they promised (“’til death do we part”).
2. Think sexual temptation will cease (it only heightens/increases).
3. See spouse as need meeter rather than God as need meeter.
4. Place unreasonable expectations on their husband/wife.
5. Think they’re not in love anymore when the feelings go (love has nothing do to with feelings).
6. Sign a prenuptial agreement beforehand (already sets a foundation for divorce).
7. Don’t fight fair (use absolute statements like: “You NEVER” or “You ALWAYS”).
8. Have a wrong definition of love (agape love chooses for the highest good of the object of one’s affection ~ your spouse). (1 Corinthians 13:1-8a)
9. Don’t help (with the kids, with the dishes, etc).
10. Say they love the Lord (have a relationship with Jesus Christ), but are spiritually neglectful (live in a backslidden state?).

BONUS Allow eyes and/or emotions to wander (fantasize over others).
