“Do not associate with a man given to anger; or go with a hot-tempered man, lest you learn his ways, and find a snare for yourself.” (Proverbs 22:24-25)
I was out jogging one day. And I gotta tell ya. I almost got run over. I’m not kidding. I was close to becoming a pancake. No lie.
I do my best to run alongside the road. And especially when I cross Highway 108 (by where I live). But this time I looked. And I saw this 4-wheel drive coming. And he didn’t signal.
And the next thing I know he was honking. And it was amazing. The gentleman (well, actually he wasn’t so gentle), he go so uptight and frustrated at me since I cut in front of him by accident. And it may have even also been that the veins in his neck were popping out as well. I’ve heard of road rage. I think I may have instigated an instance of it (and also my premature departure!) though completely unintentioned.
Anger. I guess that’s really what I want to talk about. (I could talk about being more careful while jogging so you don’t killed, but I’ll leave that for another time.)
Some people get so angry. (And for some, it’s at the drop of a hat that they do!) When somebody makes a mistake or when another person doesn’t like the same things as they do or when somebody else has a different opinion about something that is contrary to theirs, some people get so angry. (Even some Christians.)
And we’re just not gonna have much of a good time of it during our life here on this earth if we don’t light up ~ if we don’t let things slide and refuse to get mad.
Is there something upsetting you today? Let it go. You’ll be surprised. It just might be a cure for those headaches you’ve been having (or other ailments). You just never know.
