10 Mistakes People Make with Easter (plus 1 bonus)

Christ's Resurrection AppearancesLightning fast read meant to make you think…

10 Mistakes People Make with Easter (plus 1 bonus):

1. Replace Jesus with a bunny.
2. Get all hung up on the word, “Easter.”
3. Don’t realize the magnitude and meaning of the event that day (the Resurrection itself). (John 2:19; 3:16)
4. Only attend church on Easter (and on Christmas?).
5. Never celebrate it at all (go on living their lives from birth to death apart from God). (2 Peter 3:9)
6. Think it’s a myth or the tomb was empty some other way (Swoon, Theft and Hallucination theories of the Resurrection – too many appearances by Christ on Easter Sunday to too many people to be fraudulent). (Luke 24:13-43; 1 Corinthians 15:5-9)
7. Act self-righteously when it comes to kids having Easter egg hunts, etc (why not capitalize on it? – we hide one empty egg with the others and the child that finds it must explain what it represents to win a prize – the empty tomb, Jesus is alive!).
8. Overlook that it’s what separates Christianity from all other religions (a risen from the grave Savior on Easter Sunday). (1 Corinthians 15:20)
9. Never pursue the truth for themselves to either confirm or disprove what happened that first Easter (atheists have become converted by doing it).
10. Celebrate Easter without having ever received Christ and committed their lives to following Him (go to church on Sundays, but live “like the devil” on Monday through Saturday). (Romans 10:9-10, 13)

BONUS Forget the message (empty tomb proves Jesus is God and all that He said was true). (Luke 18:32-33; John 20:1-8)
