Religion of the State

“‘We have no king but Caesar.'” (John 19:15)

Something dangerous has taken place in America. (Losing liberty by Cal Thomas) In these last days it has come down to this. The State is telling the Church what it can and cannot believe.

As it was in Jesus’ day so it is in ours. The issue is allegiance: Caesar or Christ? Prominent pastors have stood up and said they will go to jail rather than obey. (Southern Baptist leader: If Obama mandate isn’t changed, Christians will go to jail; Rick Warren tweets: ‘I’d go to jail rather than cave in’ on Obamacare mandate)

The Bible predicts a time where the demand will be made on people of faith to bow down to something other than God. If they refuse, they will be penalized (severely). (Revelation 13:15)

It will reach its climax when Satan is released in all his fury. (Is he “out” already?) The Scriptures record it this way:

“Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” (Revelation 12:12)

Satan’s greatest wrath will unfold via a world system in direct conflict with Christ and His people…

It was also given to him (the beast) to make war with the saints and to overcome them. (Revelation 13:7a)

This “war with the saints” necessarily requires choosing sides by the inhabitants of earth. Again, Caesar or Christ? Many who say they love the Lord will abandon the faith due to fear. (2 Thessalonians 2:3)

Whom will you choose?

“‘No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (this world system).'” (Matthew 6:24; KJV)

“‘As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.'” (Joshua 24:15c)
